Table for Two is a dynamic piano duo featuring American pianist Ilana Joyce Cady and Mexican-American pianist Linda Chávez. The two met at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they discovered a shared belief that classical music should not only preserve tradition but also expand it: illuminating voices, cultures, and works that have too often been overlooked.

Their collaboration quickly gained international recognition. In 2016, they won an international competition in Graz, Austria, debuting at the Styriarte Festival with Great Daughters: Unheard Voices, a groundbreaking program celebrating women composers from around the world. Since then, Table for Two has toured across Texas, Vermont, Massachusetts, Austria, and Puerto Rico, and completed a Teaching Artist Residency at Lincoln Center in New York City, where they worked with other creatives exploring creativity through performance and collaboration.

Both artists bring distinct yet complementary missions. Ilana Joyce Cady is an active collaborator and founder of the Free Concert Series in Massachusetts dedicated to building community through creative and inclusive programming. Linda Chávez, pianist, educator, and founder of Brownsville Piano Studio in Texas, is committed to expanding access to high-quality music education and fostering cultural growth through performance and outreach.

As Teaching Artists, the duo designs immersive concerts that blend storytelling, poetry, and audience participation, transforming the concert hall into a space for connection and discovery. Their programming often pairs familiar classics with rarely performed works, encouraging audiences to hear the world (and themselves) in new ways.

Their upcoming 2025–2026 program, “Sounds of the New World,” continues this mission, featuring music from across North, Central, and South America that reimagines the boundaries of the classical tradition. With artistry rooted in authenticity and purpose, Table for Two is dedicated to sharing their passion with communities where classical music thrives — and where it is just beginning to bloom.
