Come and experience this exciting voice performance filled with songs and arias by the most prominent composers from the turn of the 20th century such as Verdi, Obradors, and Gounod. This program will also feature music by Brazilian, Colombian, and Mexican composers, many of which have been rarely performed. We invite the community to take part in this special musical event!

Hannah Moreno
Hannah Moreno, Soprano

Colombian-American soprano Hannah Moreno is a recent Master’s graduate of the Eastman School of Music studying under the tutelage of Nicole Cabell. In the 2022-2023 season, she performed the operatic roles of Rosalba in Daniel Catán’s Florencia en el Amazonas, Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen, and Mabel’s cover in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance. In the 2021-2022 season, she performed Baker’s Wife in Sondheim’s Into the Woods, Linfea in Cavalli’s La Calisto, and 2nd Lady and 2nd Spirit in Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

Moreno was the recipient of the Encouragement Award of the Lyra New York International Art Song Competition (2021), the top prize winner of the South Texas NATS Chapter Auditions (2019), and a semi-finalist in the Pasadena Vocal Competition, Young Texas Artists Music Competition, and the Classical Singer Vocal Competition (2022). This summer, Moreno will attend OperaFest Sewanee as an Emerging Artist.

Érico Feire Bezerra
Érico Feire Bezerra, Pianist

Brazilian pianist Érico Freire Bezerra is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music, under the guidance of Dr. Andrew Harley. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Rio Grande do Sul Federal University (UFRGS) in Brazil and his Master’s degree from Illinois State University.

Since the beginning of his DMA, Érico participated in many music festivals, including the 2022 Toronto Summer Music Festival, and Music on Site.Inc (MOSI) 2022 where he served as Music Director in the opera Suor Angelica. This summer, he will be attending the 2023 Aspen Music Festival and School as a fellow in the Vocal Collaboration program.

Since 2015, he has served as a staff collaborative pianist at UFRGS in Porto Alegre/Brazil. Érico is a recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship and currently holds Graduate Assistantships in Studio Accompanying and Orchestral Keyboard at Eastman.
