This program will showcase a dynamic range of piano repertoire, from the elegance of Scarlatti and Mozart to the fiery virtuosity of Chopin, Liszt, and Prokofiev performed by Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance candidate, Andre Garcia!

Andre Garcia

Andre De Jesus Garcia-Garza is a pianist completing a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Passionate about both performance and music education, he has actively participated in recitals, masterclasses, and community concerts, sharing his love for classical music with diverse audiences.

Over the years, Andre has performed in various solo and ensemble settings, including university recitals, special concert events, and themed performances blending classical and contemporary influences. He has studied under Dr.Kenneth Saxon and has had the opportunity to refine his artistry through masterclasses with renowned pianists such as David Korevaar, Clayton Stevenson, and Dr. Bradley Bolen.

In addition to performing, Andre is dedicated to teaching and expanding access to music education. He works as an instructor at Brownsville Piano Studio, where he teaches private and group lessons, helping students of all ages develop their skills and appreciation for music.

Tonight’s program showcases a dynamic range of piano repertoire, from the elegance of Scarlatti and Mozart to the fiery virtuosity of Chopin, Liszt, and Prokofiev. Each piece represents a unique facet of the piano’s expressive capabilities, offering a journey through different styles, emotions, and technical challenges.

Beyond his studies, Andre is actively involved in promoting live classical music performances and developing online resources to engage new audiences. He looks forward to continuing his work as a performer, educator, and advocate for classical music.
